'Brio' was spotted by Mary as a 3 year old when she was asked to break him in by his breeder, Angie Kingdom.
Mary loved him on sight, even though he was far from easy to handle.
After breaking Brio, Mary bought him as a 4 year old in 2003.
During the same year, Brio had to undergo a serious operation to remove his left kidney which left him with an 18-inch scar and minus one rib! It was touch and go whether he would survive.
But Clare and Brio have slowly built up their formidable partnership ever since.
In 2008, Brio picked up 10 first prize wins, and he upgraded to a Grade 'B' show jumper...
In 2009, Brio won places at the Welsh Masters against some top names.
Brio has just started the 2010 season in flying form, with a win at the Hand EC and a qualification for the Halsall Electrical 1.25 Blue Chip Championship.
